Mary F. Aley's Obituary
Mrs. Mary F. Aley, age 97, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Harbor Hospice, following a brief illness. Mary was born in West Lynn, MA on July 20, 1912 to Dennis and Margaret (Crane) Murphy. She married Mr. Don G. Aley and in 1982, he preceded her in death. Throughout the years they opened and then sold several successful auto parts stores, finally settling in Muskegon where they owned and operated Western Auto on Apple Ave. Mary was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and loved to travel. Mary traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and made several trips to her beloved Ireland. She was a talented seamstress, loved history, socializing and cooking for the family. Mary is survived by: three granddaughters, Mary (Tom) Sandgren of Norton Shores, Laurie (Rich) Wildfong of Montague and Donna (Brad Duvall) Gardner of Cedar Grove, IN; three great-grandchildren, Joel, Eric and Alyssa; two brothers, James (Dorothy) Murphy and John (Ann) Murphy and three sisters, Betty Smith, Margaret Keady and Denise (Maureen Nevins) Haseman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Laurence Gardner in 1992 and daughter-in-law, Mildred Gardner in 2000. The funeral service will be held at:
