Mary L. Town's Obituary
Mrs. Mary L. Town, age 92, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Brookhaven. She was born on August 17, 1918 to Robert and Esther (Yarranton) Rahn in Muskegon and has been a life resident. Mrs. Town was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church for most of her life and did the church books for many years. She worked at Carr School as a head cook for many years and also worked as secretary for Egelston Township, retiring in July 1985. Mrs. Town also spent summers cooking at Camp Pendalouan. On July 17, 1937 she married Samuel M. Town in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1961. SURVIVORS include her son, George A. (Pat) Town; daughter-in-law, Betty “Pat” Town; grandchildren, Donald (Sherri) Town Jr., Pamela Town, Bradley (Helen) Town, Sarah (Robert) Spencer and Amy Town; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald “Pat” (Beverly) Rahn and Frank (Jackie) Rahn; sister, Lillian Janowiak; and sister-in-law, Shirley Rahn; along with many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donald F. Town Sr.; and brothers, Robert, William, George, Raymond and Lewis Rahn.
