Mary Louise "Pat" Byersmith's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Louise “Pat” Byersmith, age 74, died Friday, November 5, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born on April 8, 1930 in Toledo, OH to Clarence & Bernice (Fike) Brell, and had resided in both Toledo, and Westchester, IL before coming to Muskegon 33 years ago. Pat was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, and was club manager for Muskegon Duplicate Bridge Club (ACBL), where she was a life master of ACBL. She was an active volunteer at the Muskegon Museum of Art, and the Westshore Symphony. Pat had been an active member of the Divine Infant’s Women’s Guild of Westchester, IL. Her favorite saying in life was, “God made me a mother to be a grandmother.” On August 22, 1953, she married Ronald Byersmith in Toledo, OH, and he survives her along with 6 children, and 14 grandchildren, Jeffrey M. (Tricia) Byersmith of Denver, CO and children, Elizabeth and Katie, Susan (Bob) Young of Muskegon and children, Matthew, Meaghan, and Christopher, Betsy (Joe) Kern of Wichita Falls, TX and children, Kristen, Sean, and Sarah, Debbie (Bob) Beckquist of Branford, CT and children, Michael, and Amy, Lisa Byersmith of Muskegon, David (Julie) Byersmith of N. Muskegon and children Allison, Andrew, Anthony and Annie; 2 brothers, Tom (Joanne) Brell of Toledo, OH, Michael (Ursula) Brell of San Antonio, TX; 2 sisters, Sister Rachel Brell of Toledo, OH, and Barbara (Pete) Weston) of Perrysburg, OH. VISITATON with Pat’s family will be 3-6 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with the Rosary being prayed at 5:30 PM. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 1 PM Monday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
