Marylyn J. Brink's Obituary
Mrs. Marylyn Jean Brink, age 80, formerly of Norton Shores, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in Brighton, Michigan. Marylyn was born into a loving family on June 15, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to Armand and Anna (Duggan) Archambault. She began her education in a one-room schoolhouse, then went on to complete her elementary schooling at St. John School in Davison. Marylyn graduated from Davison High School where she was active in the school choir, plays, and cheerleading. After high school, she worked in the office at A.C. Spark Plug in Flint. It was during this time that she met her beloved Michael. Together, they shared their love of music and dancing as they dated and eventually married on August 13, 1960. Marylyn and Michael went on to raise their three children in Flushing, Michigan. Marylyn enjoyed working part-time in retail while being a devoted mother, wife, friend, and member of the church. In retirement, she was a proud participant in Sweet Adelines, an avid golfer, and loved to travel. Marylyn is survived by her children, David Brink, Bridjette (Richard) LaVigne, and Cynthia (Kevin) Kelly; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew LaVigne, Blair (Ryan) Steele, and Tricia Kelly. Marylyn is also survived by her two sisters, Katie Burns and Mickie Riek and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Michael. Marylyn dedicated her life to friends and family, exuding love and laughter to everyone that knew her. Her steadfast commitment to her children and grandchildren has left a legacy of an everlasting family bond. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel (2929 McCracken, Muskegon, 49441) with Rev. Charles D. Hall presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her Mass. Marylyn will be buried next to her husband in Lakeside Cemetery.
