Matt J. Somero's Obituary
Matt J. Somero, age 67, passed away on February 18, 2020. He was born on November 15, 1952 to Carl J. and Marguerite R. (Irwin) Somero in Muskegon. Prior to 2014, he had worked for Barney Castle Oil Company in transportation and maintenance. Matt enjoyed a family cook out, hunting, fishing and his four-legged protector and friend, Taz. On March 1, 1975 he married, Deedee Farr and she survives him along with 5 children, Lisa (Jason Kroll) Somero, Joseph Somero, Beth Somero, Matt Somero, Kelly (Ricky) Proctor; 5 grandchildren, Savanna (Luke Binns) Kroll, Jaclynn Kroll, Kaleb Coulter, Makenzee Proctor and Audee Proctor; sisters, Beverly Jarvis, Diane (Thomas) Robinson and Janet (Johnny) Smith; sister-in-law, Ruth Somero; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Matt was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Aldridge; and brothers, Carl and Allen Somero. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Matt will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Hubbard Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Matt’s family for final expenses.
