Matthew O. Crain's Obituary
Matthew Orville Crain, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Twin Lake, MI. He was born in Muskegon on August 2, 1978, to Orville and Sally (Nichols) Crain. He graduated from Reeths Puffer High School and went on to work various jobs over the course of his career. Matt loved spending time outdoors, especially riding his bike or going for a drive out to the beach. He was smart and had a sarcastic sense of humor, and he loved spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Matthew will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sally Hendrixon; two sisters: Kara (Nick) Vanderweele and Kelly (Doug) Weiler; stepmother, Susan Crain; four step-siblings: Jeffrey (Macy) Hendrixon, David Hendrixon, Steve Thiele, and Cheyenne Thiele; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Crain, and his stepfather, Duane Hendrixon.
A Memorial Service will be held for Matt at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W Giles Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445, with Visitation taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Kidney Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Whitehall Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 816 S Mears Ave, Whitehall, MI, 49461.
