Matthew S. Small's Obituary
Matthew S. Small, age 39, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the Poppen Residence. He was born on February 27, 1987, to Edward Small and Deanna (Farr) Moseley in Muskegon. Matt had worked for Shape Corp. before being diagnosed with ALS. That didn’t stop him from loving his roles as an uncle, enjoying frisbee golf, photography, RC cars, Dungeons & Dragons, local concerts, Irish Festival, and a good Guinness beer. Survivors include his mother, Deanna (John) Moseley; siblings, Alex (Angela) Small, Angela Small, and step-sister Rebeka (Adam) Storms. Matt was preceded in death by his father, Edward Small.
VISITATION with the family will be on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Matthew will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Venture Church (1937 N. Whitehall Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445), with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at the church. A private burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. MEMORIALS to Venture Church would be appreciated.
