Matthew R. Thies' Obituary
Mr. Matthew R. Thies, age 30, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 30, 2013. He was born August 22, 1982 in Muskegon to Raymond and Karen (Murphy) Thies. Matt was a Reeths-Puffer High School graduate of 2000, where he was active in the marching band, and was also a graduate of UTI in West Chicago. He was currently working for Structural Concepts, but was ASE, Toyota, and Kia Certified. Matt loved listening to rock music, playing the drums, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, and vacationing. He was kind hearted and enjoyed helping people. SURVIVORS include his parents, Raymond and Karen Thies of Fruitport; fiancée, Lindsey Ertman and her parents, Dave and Tammy Ertman all of Holland; brother, Patrick (Tamara) Thies of N. Muskegon; nephew, Dekota Kilcrease; niece, Skyler “Serenity” Kilcrease; one aunt; 4 uncles; numerous cousins; a multitude of friends; and his dog, Charlie. The Lord took Matt all too soon. His light has now gone out, but his love will forever shine in our hearts. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Dave Fackler officiating. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to Locks of Love.
