Matthew B. "Matt" Panozzo's Obituary
Mr. Matthew B. “Matt” Panozzo, age 87, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born December 23, 1923 in Muskegon, MI to John and Lucy Panozzo and lived in the area all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. On May 14, 1949, he married the former Mary R. Foote in Muskegon and she survives him. He worked 5 years at Teledyne-Continental Motors and worked 40 years at Brunswick Corp. retiring in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was also a member of VFW #446. Along with his wife, Mary, he is also survived by 3 children, James Panozzo of Hawaii, Randall Panozzo of Muskegon, Denise (Arnie) Bundt of Twin Lake; 3 grandchildren, Matt Panozzo, Jr. of Hawaii, Jarrod and Chelsea Bundt; 3 great-grandchildren, Brennan and Chase Bundt, and Chance Panozzo; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Al Panozzo, John Panozzo, Jack Panozzo; and 1 sister, Pauline Skipski. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery with Military Honors offered by the Honor Guard from VFW #446. VISITATION with the family will be held one hour prior to the Mass, 9-10 AM Thursday at church. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S.
