Maureen Ellen Bleich's Obituary
Maureen Ellen Bleich, age 63, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. She was born May 31, 1962, in Muskegon to Richard and Arlene (Wickerink) Smith. Maureen graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1980 and worked as a waitress for several Muskegon area restaurants for many years. Maureen was an avid gardener with a deep love for travel, especially to Alaska and Hawaii. She even took to the skies—skydiving among her many adventures. A true adventurer at heart, Maureen was known for her caring nature, vibrant energy, and bubbly personality. She rarely sat still and was always on the move, sharing her generous spirit wherever she went. Over the years, she touched countless lives in meaningful and positive ways. She will be deeply missed. Maureen is survived by her husband, Jim Bleich; three children: Chad Smith, Kevin Bleich, and Stephanie (Justin) Tyler; three grandchildren: Jackson, Benjamin, and Dominic; brother, Mark Smith; sister, Monica (Ed) Wiggers; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Raven Bleich; two brothers: Kevin and Chris Smith; and a sister, Colleen Smith. A memorial gathering and time of sharing will be held from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S.
