Maurice D. "Morry" Edson, Sr.'s Obituary
Maurice D. “Morry” Edson, Sr., age 68, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was born June 12, 1949 in Muskegon to Edward and Philena (Latin) Edson and was a life resident of Muskegon. Morry was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. On October 5, 1968, he married the former Sheila S. Clarke in Muskegon. Morry worked 40 years for Knoll, Inc. and retired in 2014. He formerly attended Central Assembly of God where he was active as a greeter and volunteered with baptisms and the drama productions. He recently began attending Harvest Bible Chapel in North Muskegon. Morry was very active and enjoyed exercising and physical fitness. He was a member of the former YFCA Fitness Club. Morry was very dedicated to his family especially his wife, Sheila, their children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Edson of Muskegon; 2 children, Maurice (Lora) Edson II of Muskegon, Cari McKinnon of Spring Lake; 6 grandchildren, Brenden Edson, Shannon (Cady) McKinnon, Hunter McKinnon, Connor McKinnon (US Navy), Noah McKinnon, Colton McKinnon; 4 great grandchildren, Irie, Evlie, Oliver and Lucy; 2 brothers, Doug Edson and David Edson; and 2 sisters, Maxine Phillips and Shirley Connely. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00am Monday, May 21, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Douglas Hill officiating.
