Maxine L. Andersen's Obituary
Maxine L. Andersen, age 102, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1922, in Hesperia, MI to August and Martha (Shaw) Kirchenbauer and was a lifetime resident of Muskegon.
When she was young, she loved ice-skating, dancing, ballet, bowling, hiking in the woods, horseback riding, and traveling all over the world. Her favorite place to visit was “EVERYWHERE”!
Maxine was an artist; she worked as a freehand chalk artist for a church ministry, and also an accountant at K-Mart. She loved to read just about anything, especially history, fiction and mysteries.
Maxine always said she liked to walk in the rain. She won the city bowling championship in Muskegon. She had traveled to Israel and she was the first girl to run for president of the student council.
Maxine was a social butterfly, and she enjoyed going out with her friends for lunch and different activities.
In 1950 she married Clifford Andersen after meeting him at church, and he preceded her in death in 1970.
SURVIVORS include her children, Pat Lieb, Diane Bowman, Rick (Lucie) Andersen; grandchildren: Lonnie (Megan) Lieb and their son, Oak; Tana (Tom) Lieb Wonak and their daughters, Zoe and Addison; Nicole Fessell; Kimmy (Matt) Basden and their children, Carly, Caroline and Carter; Hannah (Riley) Wynn and their sons, Arlo and Jensen; and Tyler Weatherford; step-grandchildren: Noreen Deephouse and family, and Richard Lieb and family; along with nephew, Lary Kirchenbauer and family.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES for Maxine will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2025 at Mona View Cemetery (3335 Mona View Dr. Muskegon Heights, MI 49444).
