My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother, Maxine. She was a strong women who walked to and from work for many years. Maxine had the respect of many in Law Enforcement and the Judicial System, along with several Employees she supervised over the years
Maxine was the "secret sauce" at the District Court -- her dedication, her patience, her knowledge, kindness and warmth -- all of these were the foundation that inspired many to provide outstanding service and assistance to those who came to the Court for various reasons. She modeled what it means to have a servant's heart for people, and still moves us who had the great opportunity to see her in action. My thoughts and prayers to her family, and thanks also for their sharing of her with us.
Aunt Mackie was one extraordinary person. Her laugh, her smile, her beautiful heart will be with me the rest of my life. Many of my most cherished memories involve her. She was like a second mother to me. Her baking and cooking skills are legendary. She could make me feel better even in the worst of situations. This world is missing a true gem. Rest In Peace, lovely lady.
Greg and Eric, it is always so sad to lose anyone, but your Mom is one of the hardest. I do know that all the great memories you have can not be taken away. Take time to grieve your loss and also take time revisiting the best things about your Mom. She was so VERY proud of both of you. I was lucky to have worked with/for your mom. She was a great boss and friend. Her humor was one of her great assets! Maxine totally got me and my craziness! In peace may she rest. Alanna VanHoeven
We were so blessed to have "Aunt Mackie" in our lives for so long. No one can make a pie or a prime rib like she did. We'll always treasure her visits to Colorado (especially the pie baking training session aka flour explosion) and our September visit with her this year. No doubt at all that she and Uncle Russ are dancing up a storm. She was so very loved by all of our friends who met her over the years. She is at peace which is well deserved for long life.
My mom (Pauline) worked with Maxine at District Court. I remember her making her lemon meringue pie. YUMMY! Good thoughts of your Mom 💚💜
I am sad to see your Mom passed away. As you know, she was great person. She treated people fairly and professionally even when some people did not deserve to be treated that way. She was the Court Clerk when I began to practice in Ottawa Co. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was never too busy to answer questions or solve a problem. Take comfort in knowing she made a difference in people's lives, especially mine. Thinking of her always makes me smile.....
