Maxine Foster's Obituary
Mrs. Maxine L. Foster, age 98, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, September 21, 2020. She was born November 3, 1921 in Ferrysburg to Floyd and Bertha (Thomas) Nuvill. In 1941 She married Melford Foster and he preceded her in death in 1978.
Maxine was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Grand Haven High School at the age of 72 and received a special plaque for being the oldest graduate. Maxine worked for Michigan Plastics for over 50 years before retiring in 1981. She also worked at the Grand Haven Depot Museum and the Loutit District Library until 2010. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking at Meijer. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by four children: Donald Foster of Arizona, Dale (Rita) Foster of Spring Lake, Patty (Fred) Shear of Grand Haven, and Jerry Foster of Grand Haven; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Foster, daughter, Beverly Brown; sisters, Geraldine Keech, and Betty Anderson; brothers, Robert Nuvill, and Donald Nuvill.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Church of the Nazarene (1620 S. Beechtree St. Grand Haven, MI 49417) followed by a private family service. Due to COVID 19 restrictions and masks will be required. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery.
