Megan Meredith Moreland's Obituary
Megan M. (Tate) Moreland passed into her heavenly home on February 15, 2024, at the age of 39. Her fierce battle with breast cancer took her earthly life but she left behind a powerful example of strong will, positivity and hope. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sweet spirit, her kindness and generosity and her great love for her two sons. Megan was born on March 25, 1984, in Shelby, MI., to Jim and Maria (DeYoung) Tate. She grew up in the White Lake area and attended both Montague and Whitehall public schools. After high school graduation Megan studied Pharmacology at Ferris State University and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2008. She worked for Walgreens and later for Essentia Health in northern Wisconsin. Megan was a highly competent professional always striving to show empathy and caring for her patients. She always appreciated her colleagues, and she considered them friends. Megan’s sons, Tate James Moreland age 9, and Andrew Scott Moreland age 6, were the great loves of her life. She worked hard to impress upon them the values of education, reading and the importance of being open to exploring new experiences. She taught them to love, honor and revere Jesus and to know the power and importance of prayer. Megan cherished her friendship with the “Pharm Girls” and we appreciated their never ending love and support for her. She was blessed with many loyal friends and appreciated and loved them all. Megan leaves behind her family with hearts full of memories and great respect and admiration for all that she endured without complaint. She is survived by her children, Tate Moreland and Andrew Moreland, parents, Jim and Maria Tate, her sister Michelle (Scott) Eader and her brother Brad Tate, nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Joe) Anderson, Emily, Michael and Will Eader and Allison and Brady Tate. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Megan M. Moreland Trust or Hope Scarves.
