Melba J. Stough's Obituary
Melba J. Stough, age 89, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was born June 5, 1926 to Arlie and Gladys (Jeffords) Baker in Paducah, KY. On March 6, 1946 she married Richard A. Stough. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Jackson, MI where they lived for over 30 years. Melba was past member of Beta Sigma Phi and chairwoman for the Ella Sharp Museum Auxiliary. In past years she enjoyed golfing on two leagues in Jackson and had belonged to numerous bridge clubs. Melba worked as an executive secretary for Nugent Sand for over 10 years. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 69 years, along with 3 daughters, Juliann (Douglas) Holman, Claudia (Kenneth) Hanson and Pamela (Frank) Schaner; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Baker. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Steven Wolters officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Mercy VNS Hospice or the Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, MI would be appreciated.
