Melvin H. "Mel" Reich's Obituary
Melvin H. Reich, 84, passed away Wednesday evening, August 17, 2011 at the Poppen Residence. Born March 12, 1927 to Emanuel and Neva (Wightman) Reich, he was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and a life resident of the area. Mr. Reich was a retiree of Muskegon Piston Ring, and former manager of their Credit Union. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include his beloved wife, Marian, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his children: Linda McClain, Deborah DeHeer, Michael (Jackie Reich Essenberg) who preceded him in death, Tom (Lisa) Reich, Tim (Deb) Reich; and sisters-in-law Evelyn Horvath and Lucille Rich. He will also be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Brown and Rev. Fr. Phillip Witkowski as Concelebrants. Interment with military rites will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the Mass at the Church, 9-10 AM Monday. In lieu of flowers those wishing to contribute please consider Harbor Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
