Michael Oliver Charles Austin's Obituary
Michael Oliver Charles Austin, age 71, met his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1950 to Oliver and Neda (Pheiffer) Austin in New York. He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a dedicated employee of BC Cobb Steam Plant, where he worked as an engineer for numerous years.
He was an avid dog sledder and would harness his Huskies and drive them through the snow at Double J Resort. He had 2 Huskies left when he retired that were like his children, Moka and Bella.
He was, as a friend, put it, a “diamond in the rough”. Generous to those he cared about, buying little tokens such as bags of candy on holidays and delivering them to waitresses and salesclerks he did business with. He had a great sense of humor and his catch phrase " Prune Juice to You" will always be remembered.
He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Austin Kinney; 2 grandchildren, Liam and Aoife; sister, Neda Brook; nieces, Bambi Brooke, Babette Corelli, Neitcha (Brook) Holm; and great nieces; Amanda Brook and Amber Fury.
