Michael A. Castagna's Obituary
Michael A. Castagna, age 75, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Florida. He was born August 18, 1946 in Muskegon to John and Verna (Anderson) Castagna. Mike was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, stationed in Japan during Vietnam. He worked 20 years for Zelenka Nursery prior to his retirement in 2010. On April 26, 1980, he married Glenna L. Hepworth in Muskegon and they enjoyed splitting time between Michigan and Florida and traveling the country together. Mike loved all sports. He has bowled a 3oo game, played golf as well as football and had very fond memories of his fast pitch softball days, playing for several teams over the years, the last being for McGraw Tire. Mike was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge 2886 in Rotonda West, Florida. He was also a Life Master bridge player and taught many people how to play over the years. SURVIVORS include his wife, Glenna; 2 sons: Michael (Kara) Unger Jr. and Mark (Amanda) Unger; 10 grandchildren; brother, David (Linda) Castagna; sister, Linda Norden; and a host of nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Michael will be held 12 Noon on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday, July 29, 2022 and also one hour prior to the service Saturday morning.
