Michael Chittenden's Obituary
Mr. Michael Chittenden, age 64, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home. He was born April 10, 1952 in Rapid City, South Dakota at the Ellsworth Air Force Base to Earl and Kathryn (Baird) Chittenden. He married Lynnette DeWitt on October 6, 1973 in Grand Haven.
Mike retired from Herman Miller after 37 years. Mike was a very talented guy who enjoyed working on his motorcycles. He would design and fabricate his own parts. Every spring he would reveal a new paint design.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne; two sons, Craig Chittenden of Norton Shores, Joseph (Cathy) Chittenden of Spring Lake; father, Earl Chittenden; sister, Patty (Robert) Kolkema; brother, Chris Chittenden; grandchildren: Samuel, Robert, and Thomas Chittenden; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn; sister, Lynn; and granddaughter, Alexis.
A memorial gathering for Michael will take place 12:30 – 4:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Country Estates Community Room located on 148th and State Road in Spring Lake.
