Michael Eugene Cody's Obituary
Michael Eugene Cody, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 1, 2023. He was born on October 18, 1958, to Harold and Lois (Thompson) Cody in St. Ignace, MI. He attended Coopersville Schools as a child. He made his career in the manufacturing industry and enjoyed wood working and craftsmanship in his later years. On May 5, 1990, he married Sheryl (Sparrow) Langler, and they were able to spend 33 years together.
Mike was known for having a little bit of a sweet tooth, as he loved eating various treats, especially ice cream and cookies but his favorite food was free. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, and a good card game. He was competitive by nature but when it came to playing games with the grandchildren, he somehow never won. Mike was a devoted father, stepfather, and grandfather and will be remembered for the love and dedication he had for his family.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sheryl; children, Jay (Andrea) Langler, Kristen (Benji) Kieft, Nick Cody, Heather Cody; grandchildren, Jalen, Brinley, Nathan, Sofie, Warren and Owen; sister, Brenda Rotman; and brothers, James (Deb) Cody, Greg Cody, and Kenny Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents.
