Mr. Michael Grabinski's Obituary
Mr. Michael Grabinski, age 68, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, in Tucson, AZ. Michael was born May 14, 1949 to William and Julianna (Sladek) Grabinski in Muskegon. Michael served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He received multiple awards for combat service. After Michael earned his degree from Grand Valley State University he began a 23 year career as an IRS agent in San Diego, CA receiving the U.S. Department of the Treasury Albert Gallatin Award. Michael was active with the Veterans Association and the Toys for Tots Foundation for several years. He is survived by his brothers, Joseph (Rhonda) Grabinski of Grand Rapids, William (Janet) Grabinski of Dallas, TX, Albert (Christina) Grabinski of Portage, Raymond (Susan) Grabinski of Lakeview, Paul Grabinski of Muskegon, and Anthony (Patricia) Grabinski of Plymouth, MN; sisters, Susan Rositch of Spring Lake, Marilyn (Thomas) Graham of Tucson, AZ, Julia (William) Steilen of Overland Park, KS, and Margaret (Timothy) Bancuk of Grand Rapids; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George Grabinski. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 Sixth St., with Rev Fr. Charles Hall presiding. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, and one hour prior to the service at church (10-11AM). Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Full Military Rites afforded under the auspices of the Marine Corps Detachment 703. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Toys for Tots Foundation.
