Michael Henry "Mike" Harris' Obituary
Michael Henry Harris, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born January 6, 1936 in Woodville, WI to Henry and Claire (Ryan) Harris. Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, in which he served aboard the U.S.S Arneb in Operation Deep Freeze. On September 19, 1957, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Medema in Muskegon, MI. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2020 after 63 beautiful years of marriage. Mike worked as a delivery driver for the Coca-Cola Company for 37 years, retiring in 2000. He instilled a firm and distinct level of pride for the Coke brand in his family and to this day, the “P” word is forbidden. Above all, Mike was a faithful servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and a longtime active member of Calvin Church where he served as a deacon and elder, and regularly participated in the SERVE Ministry and Crib Ministry. He was also an avid reader and a loyal fan of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). Mike will be lovingly remembered as the gentle, kind and patient patriarch of his adoring family, who will miss him dearly, but have great peace in knowing he is now Home and has been reunited with his bride. Survivors include 2 daughters, Sherry (Nick) Apostle, Julie (Mike) Cribbs; 7 grandchildren, Laura Apostle, Keri (Varun Piplani) Apostle, Kali (Jeremi) Bosch, Mary Cribbs, Michael (Beth Koscielniak) Apostle, Andrew Cribbs, Kayleen (Branden) Garrett; 10 great-grandchildren, Aliviya, Ryan, Sydney, Jackson, Benjamin, Karson, Jason, Nikhil, Freya and Emma; and many special nieces and nephews.
