Michael M. Luter's Obituary
Mr. Michael M. Luter, age 60, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in Grand Rapids. He was born in Grayling, MI to H. Melvin and Shirley (Malloy) Luter on January 7, 1963. He attended Ferris State University and has worked at Sealed Power since 1990. Mike married the love of his life, Ronda Tobey, in Muskegon in 1987 and the two built a beautiful life together over the next 36 years. Mike was an avid fan of any Detroit teams and was a huge history buff. He was known as someone who always needed answers to questions, even the questions that didn’t matter, and as a DIY-er who could always “figure out how to do it.” Mike was just a couple years shy of retirement and had big retirement dreams such as buying a house with a lot of land for him and Ronda to live on with their beloved dog, making a shop for his woodworking hobby, and restoring a mid 50’s pickup truck. While Mike wasn’t able to accomplish some of his goals, he was able to fulfill his dream of being a husband and father. Mike unconditionally loved his family and doted on his wife and kids. They took many family vacations around the United States and he and Ronda took a special trip on their anniversary every year. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Ronda; children, Jaclyn (Robert) Oosting and Nicholas Luter (Isabelle Langlois); one grandson on the way; siblings, David (Nancy) Luter and Michelle (Russ) Storrs; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 15 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM.
