Mr. Michael J. "Mac" McDermott's Obituary
Michael Thomas “Mac” McDermott, Jr., age 48, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014. He was born November 5, 1965 in Muskegon to Michael and Maureen (Marfia) McDermott, Sr. Michael was a 1984 graduate of Muskegon High School and was a Sgt. 1st Class in the Army National Guard, serving in Korea and two tours in Iraq. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of ABATE and the Forgotten Eagles Motorcycle Group. On July 14, 1990 he married Salli Johnson in Muskegon and she survives him along with 4 children, Melanie and Amanda McQueen, Michael Thomas McDermott III, Katie McDermott; 7 grandchildren, Aiyanna, Kaden, Nicella, Alexia, Michael, Elias, Jayden; his parents, Michael and Maureen McDermott, Sr.; 2 brothers, Stephen McDermott, Paul (Janice) McDermott; mother-in-law, Lorraine (Dale) Johnson; grandmother, Mae Hinton; sister-in-law, Maria (Curtis) Hinton; many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Teresa Scott. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery.
