Mr. Michael K. Mulready's Obituary
Mr. Michael K. Mulready, age 84, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021, in Muskegon from complications after suffering a massive stroke. He was born June 11, 1936 to Francis and Inez (Woodard) Mulready, Sr. in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Muskegon High School and went on to serve in the US Army. Upon discharge, he met the love of his life, Helen “Snooky” Habetler, who he married on August 19, 1961. He then earned a Master’s degree in Education from Western Michigan University. Mr. Mulready taught school in Blissfield, MI before transferring to Muskegon High School, where he spent 30 years before retiring. He also taught night school at the business college for many years, painted houses in the summer, coached many of his kids' sports teams and was a referee of multiple sports. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was a devoted hardworking family man and always put others before himself. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He was honest and giving and deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his 5 children; Michael F. Mulready, Mark (Schellie) Mulready, Tom Mulready, Maureen (David) Makowski, Mary (Luis Bratic)Seith; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Phillip Mulready. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and his stepfather Frank Bourisseau. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 20, at 1:00 PM at St. Michael’s Church. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Masks are required at church and seating is limited. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Mulready may be made to St. Michael’s Church or St. Michael’s Adoration Chapel.
