Mr. Michael T. Rogers' Obituary
Michael Thomas Rogers, born on April 16, 1951 in Spokane, Washington, passed from this life and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 15, 2016. Michael lived most of his life in Missoula, Montana where he learned to appreciate the life out west. He loved the mountains, the streams and experiencing all that nature had to offer. Mike was an avid photographer. He captured many moments through the camera lens and many are displayed throughout his home. Michael had many adventures in Montana including staking a mine claim and mining stone and slate for his business venture. He enjoyed spending time with long-time friends. Many like Peter and Cheryl Marchi had become like family to him. He moved to Spring Lake, Michigan with his wife, Valerie, in 2000 where he was the founder and CEO of American Panel in Grand Haven, Michigan. Michael enjoyed relaxing in his home on Spring Lake and watching their three puppies playing by the water’s edge. Mike was a voracious reader and had a great love for learning. He attended the University of Montana in Missoula where he received a BS degree in Microbiology/Pre-med and History/Political Science. In 1973 he received his BS in Pharmacy. Mike returned to Montana many times to watch the Grizzlies in action. Michael is survived by his mother, Marilyn Rogers of Santa Fe, NM; his wife, Valerie Rogers of Spring Lake, MI; daughter, Jessica L. Stewart of Missoula, MT; half-brother, James Rogers of Taos, NM; and half-nephew, Josh Rogers. Mike was a member of Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ in Fruitport, MI. He also spent time doing missionary work with children’s orphanages in Siquentepec, Honduras. A CELEBRATION of Michael’s life will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 4:30 PM at his home with Pastor Ken Babcock and Rev. Dr. Paul Sene officiating.
