Mr. Michael Joseph Sarade's Obituary
Mr. Michael Joseph Sarade, age 68, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 13, 2014, surrounded by his family at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Mike was born December 16, 1945 in Muskegon to Michael F. and Ann (Koslosky) Sarade. Mike served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and remained as a reservist for the next 16 years. On May 22, 1976, he married the former Rita Marie Warner in Muskegon and she survives him. Mike worked as a woodworker and cabinetmaker at AmStore for more than 30 years. He then worked with Shape Corporation until his retirement in 2009. Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and V.F.W. #446. He was a model railroad enthusiast, an avid bowler, and loved time spent with his family. In addition to Rita, his wife of 38 years, Mike is survived by his children, Joseph Michael Sarade of Muskegon, Patricia (Paul Garzelloni) Sarade of Grand Blanc, MI, and Katherine Ann Sarade of Norton Shores; 4 nieces; a nephew; and one grandniece. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Joanne Marie; his parents; sisters, MaryAnn Sarade and Shirley Ahrens. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave. with Rev. Father Antony Britto presiding and full Military Rites under the auspices of VFW #446. VISITATION with his family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Wednesday evening. MEMORIALS to the Disabled American Veterans will be appreciated. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
