Michael A. Strah's Obituary
Michael A. “Mike” Strah, age 92, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 17, 1928 in Muskegon to Anton and Frances (Erchul) Strah and was a lifelong resident of the area. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Billie Peel in Muskegon on May 2, 1952 and she survives him. Mike worked as a machinist for Kaydon Corp. for 39 years and retired in 1990. He was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Lodge #2597. Mike attended Lakeside Community Church. He was an avid golfer and golfed on the Kaydon Golf League for many years. He enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles in his later years. Mike’s other interests included gardening, woodworking, working on cars, or always doing a special project for others. Mike’s family was his first priority and he spent many winters with Billie in Myrtle Beach. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. Survivors include his wife, Billie Strah; 2 children, Susan Strah, David (Kathy) Strah; 2 granddaughters, Jordan and Shelby Strah; and 1 brother, Robert (Arlene) Strah. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Strah (1985); his parents; and 1 sister, Frances Thorsen. A private family service will be held with burial taking place at Lakeside Cemetery.
