Michael A. Szczesny's Obituary
Michael A. Szczesny, age 58, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Muskegon. He was born on November 15, 1960 in Muskegon to Jerome and Betty (Smith) Szczesny. Michael was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School and Oakland University. He spent his career as a software engineer for Westinghouse and Rapistan before retiring in 2012. Michael volunteered at the American Red Cross after retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time up at the family cabin in Walhalla, MI. SURVIVORS include his mother, Betty Szczesny; brothers, David Szczesny, and Joseph Szczesny; nephews, Dan, Sam, and Jesse; and niece, Lynn. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Jerome; and brother, Steven. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN burial will be 11 AM Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church (1716 6th St. Muskegon) with Rev. Fr. Charlie Hall presiding. VISITATION will be 5-7 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM.
