The world lost a good man last weekend! I've known Mike since we were kids playing baseball and hockey up at McGraft Park. He was in the Glenside group and I was in the Lakeside group, but it didn't matter as we all got along.
We crossed paths frequently over the years as I played against him on the ice, with him in tournaments, and he reffed. He was a dam good player, person and guy you wanted on your team. About 4 years to go, I talked him into skating with the Thursday Night "Potter League" boys and he fit right in as you might expect. Our locker room conversations were priceless and the laughs we had will not be forgotten. We nicknamed him "No Filter" Mike cause he was free with his comments and feedback. Nobody was safe from his advice!. About a month ago, I sat next to Mike in the locker room having a "pop" and we talked about how we were going to meet at Cherokee for coffee in the morning after we retire, then go fishing. I was so looking forward to that!!!
I know he had a big heart and volunteered to help at many places which just speaks volumes to his character.
To his family and friends, my heartfelt condolences for your loss. I will miss him as well.
