Michael A. Tilford's Obituary
Michael A. Tilford, age 77, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 surrounded by friends and family after courageously fighting cancer for a second time. He was born on February 18, 1942 to Claude and Julia (Titus) Tilford in Crawfordsville, IN. He was a proud veteran, serving his country in the US Air Force for four years. He dedicated numerous years working in banking at Fifth Third Bank. On March 28, 1964 he married the love of his life, the former Carol Stott in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 55 years of marriage full of love and laughter. Mike was known to be a humorous man who enjoyed being the nights entertainment. He took great pride in his yard and invested many hours making sure it was in pristine condition. He was a fun-loving person who loved being a husband, father, and grandfather above all things. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Carol Tilford; 2 daughters, Stephanie Tilford and Kimberly (fiancé Kevin Hillman) Kalinowski; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas (Lauren) Kalinowski and Matthew Kalinowski; former son-in-law, William Kalinowski; brother, Larry (Ann) Tilford; 4 sisters, Kay (Rick) Brown, Sandie Columbo, Sue Prothero and Patsy Edwards; dear friends, Dick and Sharon Ward and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Guy Tilford. No services will take place. Arrangements entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W.
