Michael J. Van Epps' Obituary
Mr. Michael J. Van Epps, age 58, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home in North Muskegon. He was the husband of Monique Van Epps and the son of Patricia (and the late George) Van Epps. Mike had a wonderful, natural ability to make friends wherever he went. People from all walks of life who met him were endeared by his generous heart and entertained by his intelligent wit and storytelling. He was an avid reader and radio listener and had a wealth of knowledge on topics great and small. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling (especially to Canada) and being with his dogs. Most of all he enjoyed time spent at the cabin in the woods. A graduate of the University of Michigan and the School of Law at Valparaiso University, he served as a District Court Magistrate for Muskegon County for 30 years, honoring those in his courtroom with his skill and innate sense of fairness. Mike was an extraordinary person in so many ways. He was a good man, a man of deep integrity, but never took himself too seriously. He lived his days to the fullest and is dearly missed. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will take place from 9:30-10:00 a.m. before the Celebration. Sign the guestbook online at www.sytsemafh.com
