Mr. Michael N. Weinert's Obituary
Mr. Michael N. Weinert, 72, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born November 17, 1941 to Willard O. and Gertrude Lucille (VanEps) Weinert in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Mike worked at Mason County Fruit Packers for over 25 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, enjoyed Red Wings Hockey and bird watching. He married Rita A. Houseman on December 12, 1970, and she survives him along with 2 children, Bridget (Robert) Larabee of Muskegon, Michael J. Weinert of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Kourtney and KarLee Larabee, Blake and Mikayla Weinert; brothers and sisters, Loretta Halberda, David (Jan) Weinert, Larry (Susan) Weinert, Gertrude (Torger) Johnson, Margaret (Michael ) Matuzeski; dear friends and neighbors, Linda and George Sikkenga, and Greg Wood. Mike was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Bob, and sister Audrey Hoeft. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday, June 25, at 1:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, 49444, (231) 798-1100, with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
