Michael Jerome Wheeler's Obituary
Mr. Michael Jerome Wheeler, age 60, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Spring Lake. He was born in Grand Haven on July 18, 1955 to Wayne B. and Elizabeth M. (Smith) Wheeler. Michael was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had most recently been employed by Melching Excavating. Michael was a member of the Grand Haven Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and playing dice. Most importantly, Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially on his boat or around a campfire. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Marie (Corey Winkelman) Wheeler; his father, Wayne B. Wheeler, Sr.,; and four brothers, Rev. Fr. Wayne Wheeler, Jr., Delbert (Barb) Wheeler, Jude Wheeler and Anthony Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Wheeler and the love of his life, Mary Bennett. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Fr. Wayne Wheeler presiding. VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday. Michael always held a fondness in his heart for children, and keeping that in mind, MEMORIALS in memory of Michael may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Boy Scouts of America.
