Michael Anthony Williams' Obituary
There are no words for why someone so young had to leave us, but he will forever be remembered and held dearly in our hearts….
Michael Anthony Williams, 18, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his home in Muskegon. He was born March 11, 2006, in Yonkers, New York, and came to the Muskegon area in September 2007. Michael graduated from Muskegon High School earlier this year. He was pursuing a degree in software development attending Muskegon Community College for the first two years by way of the Muskegon Promise Scholarship and planned to transfer his credits to Ferris State University to complete his degree. His passion for soccer started at just 2 years old, playing for many teams over the years from Muskegon Rec, West Michigan Storm, Muskegon Middle School Soccer, Lakeshore Premier FC, Muskegon High School Varsity Soccer where, as a team captain, he was awarded the All-Conference Award his senior year, and also for the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks. Michael played soccer in the off seasons on a men’s summer league (FC Kaizen) in Grand Rapids and for an indoor team at Shoreline Soccer during the winter (Muskegon United). They are fierce in the arena! With so much love in his heart he volunteered at Heaven Can Wait Retail Store, benefiting homeless animals, and the Noah Project Animal Shelter for abused, unwanted and surrendered pets. He loved playing video games with his friends, camping, boating, techno music, and big bacon cheeseburgers! Michael was excited about working his first job at Redi-Rental. Michael is survived by his parents, Alan and Stacey McCabe; biological father, Michael E. (Joann) Williams; siblings, Hunter and Ashley McCabe, Aiden Williams, grandparents, Daniel and Merri Cousineau, Fayeanne Jacobs and Elizabeth (Betty) Williams, many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as friends he made from the moment he met them, including his Best Friend from the age of 5 years old, Sonny Vance, Jr. He had a warm loving light in his heart that drew people into his circle. There was always room for one more with Michael. He was preceded in death by his Great-grandmother (grandma Cou) Betty Lou Cousineau, Great-grandfather Edward Taylor, and Grandfather (Popop) James (Jimmy) Williams. A time to visit with the family and share memories of Michael will take place Monday, October 21, from 4-7 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Contributions in Michael’s name may be made to the Noah Project Animal Shelter, or Heaven Can Wait.
