Michael A. McLaughlin's Obituary
Mr. Michael A. McLaughlin, age 58, passed away very unexpectedly Tuesday morning, December 29, 2009 at his home. Mike was born October 1, 1951 in Rural Terrance, Los Angeles Co., CA, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. He worked as a Children’s Protective Service Specialist in Social Work for Muskegon County, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He served in the Jail Ministry in Muskegon through Shiloh Tabernacle, and along with his family has a long affiliation with St. Thomas Catholic Church. He also enjoyed drag racing with his wife and brother Bob. First and foremost in Mike’s life was his family. On March 31, 2001 he married Deborah L. Proctor, and she survives him along with 8 children, Michael McLaughlin II, David (Julie) McLaughlin, Yvonne Locke, Michelle McLaughlin, Ricky (Kelly) Proctor, Nicole McLaughlin, Christian Proctor, Christopher McLaughlin, all of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren, Kaylee, Taylor, Chandler, Payten, Zane, and Blake McLaughlin; Jasmine Lofquist, Savanna, Alex, and Drew Locke; Unity and Isabella Ross; Makenzee Sherrell, Chloie Cryderman, and Veyah Norton; his mother, Rosemary Novack of Muskegon; 4 brothers, Robert Novack, Raymond Novack, Jr., Todd McLaughlin, and Wayne McLaughlin; 4 sisters, Tina (George) Edlund, Rochelle (Dennis) Sabo, Alix “Marie” (John Nattress) Novack, and Rhonda Novack. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Novack, Sr., and his brother, Maurice Novack. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Shiloh Tabernacle, 460 E. Tyler Road, with Rev. Verne Wright officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION at
