Michael F. Hepler's Obituary
Mr. Michael Hepler, age 73, went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, October 12, 2009. Mike was born June 5, 1936 in Muskegon to Cecil and Frances (Foster) Hepler . Mike served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. On August 25, 1959 Mike married the former Judith Langeland at Bethany Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon. He was employed at the Brunswick Corporation for 46 years prior to his retirement in 2004. Michael was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church where he had served on the church council as both an elder and deacon, as well as a member of the counting team. Over the years, Mike had also been involved with deColores, Awana, Families Victorious, and Men for Missions. He had also served as a Boy Scout troop leader. Mike loved his wife, and his Harley and Ural motorcycles. He was a Civil War history buff, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with his family. In addition to Judy, his beloved wife of 50 years, Michael is survived by 4 children, Craig (Lynn) Hepler of Novi, Kevin (Chanda Ledsworth) Hepler of N. Muskegon, Paul (Anita) Hepler of Kentwood, and Jennifer (Myles Thrall) Press of Laketon Twp; 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Eric, Sarah, A.J., Faith, Micah, David, Anna, and Abigail; a sister, Patricia; and many nieces and nephews. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2009 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church (1105 Terrace St.) with his pastor, Rev. David Sieplinga officiating. VISITATION will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday (this evening) at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service (1-2 PM)at the church.
