Michael John Barnard's Obituary
Mr. Michael John Barnard, age 65, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born January 18, 1942 in Muskegon to Paul M. and Geneva Y. (Weeks) Barnard and lived his entire life in the area. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served 1960-1964 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On February 12, 1966, he married the former Patricia J. Redner in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on October 21, 2005. Michael was an avid NASCAR Fan and the Detroit Tigers was his choice team. He also enjoyed bowling and even scored a perfect 300 game. Years ago, he had been active with the mounted posse team of the Muskegon County Sheriff Department and was also a motorcycle enthusiast. SURVIVORS include 1 brother, Dennis (Shirley) Barnard; 2 sisters, Rebecca (Patrick) Shatney and Debra (Tim) Bryson; 2 sisters-in-law, Judy (Paul) Heimann and Linday (Gary) Bunnell; several nieces and nephews, including his caregiver, Brenda Heimann; and his 3 beloved dogs. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Muskegon Church of Christ (3164 Marquette Ave.) with Mr. Tim Bryson officiating.
