Michael John Plummer's Obituary
Michael John Plummer, age 62, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at a Muskegon hospital after a short illness. He was born November 26, 1946, in Detroit, MI, to Herschel L. and Irene H. (Fabian) Plummer. He married the former Jean Connelly on November 8, 1969, in Toledo, OH.
Mr. Plummer moved to Spring Lake from Warren, MI, in 1975 and was employed as a mechanical engineer for General Dynamics Land Systems for over 40 years. He was currently working as a manager of engineering analysis at their Muskegon Technical Center. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, and he enjoyed working outdoors, traveling, and watching Michigan State Spartans sports. Michael was a devoted and loving husband and father, and he cherished his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; two daughters, Dr. Donna (Matthew) Harold of Grand Rapids and Christine Plummer of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Charlotte (John) Parenteau of Sterling Heights, MI, and Margaret (Joseph) Kozlo of Warren, MI; two brothers, Robert (Joyce) Plummer of Sterling Heights, MI, and Daniel (Lisa) Plummer of Macomb, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Funeral Mass for Mr. Plummer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Leonard Sudlik as celebrant. Friends may meet the family 2:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Muskegon Rescue Mission are appreciated.
