Michael T. "Terry" Caughey's Obituary
Mr. Michael Terrance “Terry ”Caughey, age 61, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009, at his home. Terry was born December 7, 1947 in Muskegon to Conrad Curtis and Virginia (Chatham) Caughey. He was a life long resident and had been employed at the Trophy House for the past 25 years. Prior to that Terry had worked as a business agent for the Teamsters Union Local 527, and earlier still in his career, he worked with Nugent Sand Co. He served his Country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Terry loved music and playing his guitar in the local bands, One Thin Dime, Coconuts, and Clean Shirt throughout the years. He also loved reading, history, and Spartan and Lion Football. Terry is survived by his 2 children; Shawn (Sharon) Caughey of Muskegon, and Debora Caughey-Coffman of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Jesse, and Theo Coffman and Michael and Molly Caughey; 2 sisters, Marie “Mary Beth” (Rodney) Zavala of Pearsall, TX and Keiren “Guppie” (Roger) Caughey-Borgeson of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 nephews, Kenny and Ronnie Martinez; and many, many friends and family. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 25, 2009 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson as Presider. VISITATION will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. FULL MILITARY RITES will be afforded under the auspices of V.F.W. Muskegon County Council and the Michigan National Guard Honor Guard. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the charity of your choice.
