Michelle L. Kieft's Obituary
Michelle Kieft, devoted mother, beloved sister, cherished daughter, and loyal friend departed this life peacefully in her Muskegon home on Saturday morning January 6th, 2024 at the age of 49. She is survived by her children Gracibelle, Noah, Milo, LolaJayne Sapone and father of her children Nicholas Sapone Sr; her step-sons Nicholas Sapone Jr. and Alec Goff; grandchildren Daisy and Ralphie; parents Cheryl & Mike Kozik and Jack & Gloria Kieft; as well as her siblings Misty & Joe Theisen and Marc & Tina Kieft; nieces and nephews Caleb, Aliyah, Isaiah, Caiden, Alex, Cora, and Cruzie Bear; as well as her dearest of friends Stacey Strandberg.
Michelle was preceded in passing by her Grandparents Jayne & Hugh Russ and Jack & Thelma Kieft; Aunt Karen Eden and Uncles Greg Freeland, Pat Ulmer, and Sandy Kieft.
Michelle was born and raised in Muskegon, MI and attended Reeths-Puffer Schools until graduating in 1992. She was a proud Reeths-Puffer Rocket and remained a passionate Rockets fan until the end. Her children also attend RP schools and she donated much of her time volunteering with theater, choir, community, and soccer programs over many years. Her giving spirit impacted the many lives of family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Michelle’s vibrant spirit was felt everywhere, her laughter filled the air and her cheers could always be heard and will continue to echo through the halls, in the theaters, and across the fields. Her finger rested on the pulse of our community and it is impossible to go anywhere without encountering someone that knows and adores her.
Michelle found tremendous joy in simple pleasures like the company of family & friends, sweet wine, adorable gnomes, and singing along loudly to her favorite songs.
Michelle’s proudest accomplishment was being a mother. She took tremendous pride in her children and their achievements. She was their fiercest advocate, loudest cheerleader and there is nothing she loved more than being “Mama Bear”.
She was bold, she was strong, she was beautiful, and her memory will forever resonate in the hearts of those who love her. May her soul rest in peace.
