Miguel Quintero's Obituary
Miguel Quintero, age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 6. 2020. He was born on August 13, 1927 in Ecuanduro, Mexico to Miguel and Angelina (Arroyo) Quintero and has lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. Miguel was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior and was a longtime member at St. Jean’s Catholic Church before becoming a member at Our Lady of Grace. He was a dedicated employee to CWC Textron where he worked for numerous years. In 1960 he married the love of his life, Maria “Bell” Ramones in Muskegon, MI and together they cherished 47 years of love and laughter. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2007. He held the presidential position at the Latin American Club and was an essential part of its existence. Miguel had a real interest in poetry and enjoyed writing his own. He took pleasure in playing his lucky numbers in the lottery. Above all things, he loved his family and spending time with them. He treasured family dinners and barbequing at Blue Lake; his family meant the world to him. He will always be remembered for his loving personality that was balanced with a jokester sense of humor. He was a loving husband, amazing father, doting grandfather, and dear friend to many who will truly be missed. He is survived by his 5 children, Miguel (Nancy) Quintero, Angelina (Lee) Kies, Amanda (Timothy) Blake, Rosa (Joel) Mello and Ricardo (Michelle) Quintero; 15 grandchildren, Andrew, Raquel, Lisa, Nekia, Michael, Michelle, James, Stephanie, Miguel, William, Timothy, Alisia, Joel, Jessica and Kayla; numerous great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tina Thompson; and son-in-law, David Plummer. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Maria Quintero; 2 daughters, Cynthia Maria Plummer and Sheri Lynn Eller; son, James Ulan Thompson; 2 sisters, Lupe (Javier) Salcedo and Margarita Sandoval; 3 brothers, Juan Quintero, Francisco Quintero and Louis Quintero; and grandson, Ricardo “Ricky” Quintero II. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 451 Getty St., Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior with a rosary at 10:30 AM. Memorial Contributions in Miguel’s honor can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
