Mildred Irene "Millie" Annis' Obituary
Mildred Irene (Carr) Annis, age 88, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012. She was born November 21, 1923 in Grand Rapids to Hazen C. and Cloea Mae (Nott) Carr, Sr. Millie was a 1941 graduate of Creston High School in Grand Rapids. She was a longtime member of Second Congregational Church in Grand Rapids and had attended Christ Community Congregational Church in North Muskegon. She worked for many years at the Meijer Distribution Center in Walker until her retirement. Millie was a world traveler who especially loved going on cruises. She was adventurous and generous, as well as loving, accepting, and friendly to all. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Sally (Greg) Cioe of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Hazen C. (Phyllis) Carr, Jr. of Missouri; many nieces and nephews, and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Mae Reichow; and brother, Lyle E. Carr. According to the family’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
