In my time at Oak Crest I've met a few residents who have touched my heart Millie was one of the first. Her motherly way made everyone feel at ease. Her smile and wit made all of us love her. She loved her family so much and it was such a joy hearing her stories and looking at the latest grandchildren pictures. Being a follow cat lover made it even easer for me to get "lost" in her room. You have not only my sympathy but the sympathy of the whole housekeeping stuff.

I was only blessed to know Millie about 6 months. I started working at Oak Crest Manors in February of 2008 as a 3rd shift Lead.
Millie and I had many long talks in the middle of the night. She seemed to be a night eater and would want a sandwich every now and again with a warm glass of milk. She told me to never tell anyone because I made the best sandwich she ever ate at midnight and she didn't want anyone to spoil her treat for her. No matter what time of night it was I knew I could always count on a good conversation and that was something I looked forward to every time I worked.
Millie was a go getter. She didn't like things handed to her and was very independent within the walls of Oak Crest (as that was the only place I ever got to see her). Her smile lite up my night and her stories found a great place in my heart.
Millie was so family oriented and we always ended up talking about her children or her grandchildren. We often talked about her husband and the great man that he was to her and their family. She always asked about my family and told me to never let go of the bond I shared with them.
Millie is someone who touched the lives of many people and someone that is very hard to forget. I know she's up there smiling down on us and glad she can embrace with all her loved ones again, but that does not always help ease the pain that is left here.
It's been strange at Oak Crest the last few nights I've been working there. I feel as though there's something missing. There's those midnight conversations over a sandwich and a can of pop that are gone and there's the smile and the laugh and the stories that are now just a memory of a very special lady.
Millie was more then just a resident to me at Oak Crest, as many of them are, she was a person I looked up to and admired. She had been through a lot of tough times in her life and still managed to look on the bright side of things.
My prayers and thoughts continue to be with the family and those that lives were truly touched by this amazingly wonderful lady. I can say my life has been blessed in knowing such an amazing lady.

Millie was my favorite "grandma" at oak crest. She always made me smile. Whenever i woke her up in the morning, for some reason i could never remember how to pronouce her name, so i always greeted her with "Good Morning Millie Martini!" She would laugh, and then pronouce her name, and still i just couldn't pronouce it. I will miss her always having to put lipstick on even before breakfast. She also always had to wear black pants, cause everything goes with black. Millie will be forever be in my heart. I apologize for not being able to come to the funeral, i start classes today. She's finally with Tony again. Goodbye Millie, i'll miss you!##imported-begin##Megan Toth##imported-end##

To the Martyniek family,
My thoughts are with your family during this time. It was not so long ago I went through the same heartache. Millie was a wonderful lady and I was very fond of her. I know she is now reunited with Walt and hope you can find peace in this thought. Take care all of you and know that I am thinking of you all.
Your friend,

We the residents of Pebble will miss Millie so very much. As all the others wrote, she could make us all laugh. She never complained and was always an encouragement to anyone that needed her.
When you think of senior, for some reason Millie doesn't come to mind. Maybe because she was always so young at heart. We will miss her greatly, and our prayers and thoughts are with your family.##imported-begin##Residents of Pebblebrook##imported-end##
I also have a hole in my soul with the loss of such a special friend. I had the privilege of taking care of Millie for well over 2 yrs. I always looked forward to Sunday night watching a little TV and great conversation in her romm. I will never forget you, I love you Millie and I will miss our conversations. Until we meet again!
