Mildred R. Skeba's Obituary
Mildred R. Skeba, age 89, met her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2020. She was born to Ernest and Isabelle Priest in Lake Leelanau, MI. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior and was a long-time member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She attended St. Mary high school and was the graduating class of 1949. She married the love of her life Joseph Skeba at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Leelanau, MI and together they cherished 45 years of endless memories. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1997. She worked for numerous years at Mercy Hospital, where she worked as a CPD attendant handling surgical instruments and supplies. Mildred enjoyed being involved with her community; she volunteered her time at hospice and the Seaway Run, she was also a member of the VFW Post # 3195. She loved sewing, knitting, and hand quilting. She was also a talented cook and was well known for having the best potato salad and homemade baked bread! She took pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her vivacious personality and tender-loving soul will truly be missed by many. She is survived by her 4 children, Barbara (Gary) Bergman, LeeAnn (Brian) St. Amour, Melissa “Lisa” (Dean) Snyder and Robert (Cynthia) Skeba; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Berry, John Berry, Dean (Stacia) Snyder, Cody Snyder, Nicholas (Sheelu) Skeba and Derek (Colleen) Skeba; 5 great-grandchildren, Teagan Berry, Aryssa Snyder, Blaizlynn Snyder, Paetyn Snyder and Austyn Snyder; brother, Ruben Priest; and dear friend, Emma Sue Ramones. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Marie Skeba; sister, Dorothy (Ben) Skeba; and brother, Arthur Priest. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 6th St., Muskegon, MI 49441. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior at church. Social distancing practices and wearing masks are mandatory, there will also be availability for 125 individuals as well.
