Mildred Emily "Millie" Brandenburg's Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Emily “Millie” Brandenburg, age 83, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at a local hospital. She was born September 18, 1921 in Muskegon to Kyle and Blanche (Lake) Crain and lived her entire life in the area. After raising her family, Millie worked for over 15 years as a clerk at the Salvation Army. On April 4, 1941, she married Durward “Duke” Brandenburg in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 29, 1978. Millie was a member of Calvary Church of Fruitport. SURVIVORS include 4 children, William (Mary) Brandenburg, Sr. of Virginia, Ronald (Georgia) Brandenburg and Patti (Butch) Healy both of Muskegon, Diane (Tim) Short of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Dorothy Carden of Muskegon. She was also preceded in death by her twin infant daughters, Sharon and Karen Brandenburg; and 3 brothers, Clyde, Joseph and Kenneth Crain. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 19, 2004 at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Rev. Terry Fulk officiating. VISITATION with Millie’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM today at the funeral home. INTERMENT will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
