Shirley,
I was sorry to hear that your mom passed away. I know she was ill for a long time, but it is still difficult to finally say good bye. Seeing her obituary in the paper sure brought back a lot of childhood memories growing up with you on Mona Lake. I was not able to make it to the services, but I would love to hear from you.
Remember the crush you had on my brother Roger? The time you rode his bicycle into the side of the garage? And all of the ice rinks your dad made for us on the lake over the years. Remember Sonny Hislop? Mona Lake was a great neighborhood to grow up in.
Sincerely,
VernaMae Hillstead Gross##imported-begin##VernaMae Hillstead Gross##imported-end##
So sorry to hear about Millie passing.
I have so many fond memories of when we
lived at Mona Lake way back when we were Kids Shirley. I was in McAuley Place for a few months in 2010 and i saw her in the dining room. Even as bad as she was, I knew who she was. I went up to her several times and tried to talk to her but she did not know who I was. She was a sweetheart and I know you will miss her, but she is in a much better place than we are. My condolences to the whole family.##imported-begin##Margaret (Wilson, Miles)Knill##imported-end##
Dearest Family,
Looking at Millie's picture has brought back so many memories; happy memories of the days and hours we would talk over the fence that separated our yards. We both loved flowers and took delight in watching them bloom. One of our most favorite things was observing the fish in the pond. We watched them grow from small minows to large graceful angels in the water. While sitting on my deck, I would often look up and she would be in the second story window looking down on the pond. That large smile would be on her face. That beaming smile on other occassions would help others feel comfortable and calm. Your mother was a delight and my family and I valued her friendship, wisdom, and the good times we shared.
God gave her a long productive life but felt he has other tasks for her. We are saddened to learn she is no longer with us but glad she is with our Lord. You have our deepest sympathy along with our prayers at this difficult time. Remember she will always be with you in your hearts and will be watching from above.
May God be with you during your time of grieving.
Love always,
