Milinda Janiece Vlasma's Obituary
On May 26, 2012, after a brief illness, our beloved wife, mother and sister, Milinda Janiece Vlasma passed quietly to be with her Lord. “Mindy” was born March 28, 1959 in Muskegon and had been a life resident of the area. Milinda was a graduate of Muskegon High School and worked for Matson Oldsmobile, Plumb’s, as well as the City of Norton Shores. Milinda was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church and later became a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her husband, Ronald, her daughter, Kristen and sons, Joseph and Matthew; as well as her sister, Rayetta (‘nee Christian) Garrod, (George) of Illinois and brother-in-law, Russell (Debbie) Vlasma of Muskegon; 3 nephews and their children, Steven Garrod of Seattle, WA, Cam (Melissa) Vlasma and Gabe (Renee) Vlasma of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mildred Christian and by her brother, Reginald Christian. SERVICES will be held 11 AM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, 231-798-1100, with Pastor Robert Bierenga officiating. VISITATION with Mindy’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, you are asked to consider the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice for a more lasting memorial.
