Mr. Milo M. Pierce's Obituary
Mr. Milo “Mike” M. Pierce, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was born on September 11, 1951 to Willie and Vivian (Sheneman) Pierce in Muskegon. On June 17, 1992, Mike married the former Georgia King Riggs in Holton. Mike proudly served his country for 33 years while in the Marines and Navy, retiring in 1993. He received numerous awards and medals while in the service. He loved fishing, hunting and watching his old high school football team, the Oakridge Eagles. Mike loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. He was a gentle giant and known by most as “Papa.” His favorite saying was “Have a fine Navy Day!” Mike will be lovingly missed by his wife of 25 years, Georgia; children, Michael Pierce, Stacey Bouwkamp, Lewis “Andy” Riggs, Lauren (Jason) Hill and Sami-Ann (Jason) Colwell; grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa and Christopher, Samantha and Steven, Tristen, Sierra, Greyson, Ellison and Emerson, and Dezirea, Tyler and Breana; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Kimberly) Pierce, William Pierce and Dave (Ruth) Leedy; sisters, Pat Walker, Laura Reardon, Ardis Easton and Sandra Montonati; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Vivian; brothers, Laverne Pierce and Gary Pierce; sisters, Theresa Black, Jackalyn Pierce and Shirley Orcutt; and faithful right-hand dog, Timmy. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 3:30PM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave., 231-729-5210.
